* I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I CAN'T MAKE IT NICELY INTO PARAGRAPHS :(* Finally, some time set aside to blog about my awesome United Kingdom trip. now since i've got all the time, i want to blog on a day-by-day basis. hey, it's precious memories. 21st March 2011, Monday. Singapore to London Heathrow It's normal to find it hard to sleep the night before your flight cos of your overwhelming eagerness to get out of singapore. i prolly had 3 hours of sleep after doing last minute packing. only dad and lil brother sent me off. reached termianl 3 at 7am and about an hour later, goodbyes to family and singapore. i supposed my luggage weighs the lightest - 9-ish kg! i was expecting more from the airbus A380 cos it's the biggest singapore airline. oh and it was my first time flying a SQ! but the flight experience was somewhat like Etihad Airways. nontheless, SQ has better movies and entertainments on board. it's crucial considering the fact that we're on air for 14 hours! longest i've been on board an airplane. Arrived at London Heathrow in the afternoon. the cold weather of about 13 degree celsius excite me (Spring time in UK). heheee. dropped by Winchester to checkout the beautiful street before making our way to Travelodge at Southampton. pretty budget place but oh well, it's just for sleeping in a night. Roomie - Shah! 22nd March 2011, Tuesday. Southampton Woke up at 7.30am and brought out all our stuffs to the coach again. smoke coming out from our mouths amused me. hahaha. off to the University of Southampton for a morning talk. did like a jury trial about a criminal case. we don't have a jury system in singapore so i'd say it's a good activity. overall, i like the University of Southampton bacause it's surrounding is great with lakes, beautiful green grass, ducks and such. really nice place and the study life there is good. but i find the accommodation location is a tiring walk from the campus. After the tour around campus, we dropped by Stonehenge before making our way to Bristol. so cool to see one of the wonders of the world! Travelodge for the night again. 23rd March 2011, Wednesday Bristol Bristol was so cold that i caught a flu there. i was shivering the night in Bristol! left travelodge in the morning as usual and went to the University of Bristol. University of Bristol is a so so so pretty place! the school's buildings are castle-like, even their accommodation. i felt like i was in Hogwarts, fo' real! both exterior and interior architecture are amazing. you gotta checkout the pictures in FB! nothing about witchcraft or wizardry though! hahaha. had morning talk again followed by a super tiring tour around the campus. no kidding, the campus is damn huge! it's like the whole area of simei makes up University of Bristol. i'd totally would like to study in 'Hogwarts'. After the tour, went shopping and had delicious indian cuisine lunch at Bath. then we're off to Leicester. journeys are as great because you'll get to see huge area of green fields, sheeps and horses! how naise. Travelodge for the night again. Standard has increased though. 24th March 2011, Thursday. Leicester Packed luggage and we're off in the morning. talk and tour at the University of Leicester. it has more modern kind of buildings and surroundings. attend an actual lecture which truthfully, was boring. after tour, headed to Stratford-Upon-Avon. shopping and dinner then spent the night at yet again another Travelodge. 25th March 2011, Friday. Warwick & Stratford-Upon-Avon Morning talk at the University of Warwick. pretty bored. nothing's different for the tour too. prolly cos it's morning and i was still sleepy. afterwhich, we visited the Warwick Castle. it's like a fairytale castle! with spiral steps, beautiful scenery and such. we had to climb 530 steep spiral steps in that huge castle. completely exhausted! in the evening we had a tour of Shakespeare's town like his birthplace and life story. i wasn't so interested though. not a huge fan of literature. 26th March 2011, Saturday. Oxford Made our way to Oxford. visited Christ Church College. kids who school there must be among the luckiest kids! the architecture of the buildings are amazing. it's great to know i've stepped onto the grouds of some scenes from Harry Potter that were shot there. like the grand dining hall and stairs. so awesome. we took the underground subway to go shopping. believe me, i appreciate singapore's train a lot. also, get to see non-violece protests there. a total no-no sight in singapore. 27th-30th March 2011 , Sunday London Finally, tour of London! London is the coldest among others. like whut 4 degree celsius at night and lower than 10 degree celsius at daytime. anyhow, visited the Tower of London. London Bridge is definitely not falling down. seriously who in the world invented that kid song. also visited Buckingham Palace and we got to see the parade! other places too like The Royal Courts of Justice (but we didn't get to sit for a criminal trial!), Hogan Lovells law firm, watched a damn awesome musical - Wicked, a history museum (not so interested in this) and ofcourse, more shopping at Primark, some huge shopping mall and street shops to finish up the pounds (i still have like 20 pounds with me now -.-) came back with my luggage weight increased by 3kg to 12kg. sadly, my weight increased the same rate! omg! but i expected it lah since i really ate a lot there! Pictures up at FB. i miss UK so much and i definitely would like to go London again in the future. The aftermath of UK trip - Unpleasant Jet Lagg! oh, my folks actually gave me the approval to further my studies in UK.
